The Armed Forces Covenant is a promise by the nation to ensure that those who serve or have served in the Armed Forces, and their families, are treated fairly and with respect. It is a commitment to support the Armed Forces community, recognising the sacrifices they make and ensuring they are not disadvantaged compared to other citizens in accessing public and commercial services.
At Chassis Cab Ltd, we are proud to uphold the key principles of the Armed Forces Covenant. We believe that no member of the Armed Forces Community should face disadvantage in accessing public and commercial services compared to any other citizen. Additionally, we recognise that in some circumstances, special treatment may be appropriate, especially for the injured or bereaved.
We acknowledge the immense value that serving personnel, reservists, veterans, and military families bring to our business and our country. To uphold the principles of the Armed Forces Covenant, we commit to the following actions:
Promoting the Armed Forces: We proudly promote our status as an Armed Forces-friendly organisation to our staff, customers, suppliers, contractors, and the wider public.
Supporting Reservists: We support our employees who are members of the Reserve Forces by granting additional paid leave for annual training, supporting mobilisations and deployments, and actively encouraging staff to become Reservists.
Cadet Organisations: We support employees who volunteer as leaders in military cadet organisations by granting additional leave for training camps and courses. We also encourage staff to become volunteer leaders and support local military cadet units, recognising the benefits of employing cadets and ex-cadets.
Employing Veterans: We support the employment of veterans by recognising military skills and qualifications in our recruitment process and working with the Career Transition Partnership (CTP) to support Service leavers.
Supporting Service Spouses & Partners: We support the employment of Service spouses and partners by partnering with the Forces Families Jobs Forum and providing flexibility in granting leave before, during, and after a partner's deployment.
National Events: We actively support national events such as Armed Forces Day, Reserves Day, the Poppy Appeal Day, and Remembrance activities.
Armed Forces Charities: We support Armed Forces charities through fundraising and by encouraging staff to volunteer.
We will publicise these commitments through our literature, website, social media platforms, and throughout our dealerships. By doing so, we aim to create a supportive and inclusive environment for the Armed Forces Community within our organization.
The Employer Recognition Scheme (ERS) Bronze Award, part of the Armed Forces Covenant, acknowledges our commitment to supporting the Armed Forces community. This award highlights our efforts to provide flexible working arrangements, career development opportunities, and a supportive workplace culture for veterans, reservists, and their families. By fostering an inclusive environment, we ensure that our Armed Forces employees receive the recognition and support they deserve. Our initiatives, including providing additional leave for training and deployment, as well as comprehensive health and wellbeing support, demonstrate our dedication to honouring the sacrifices made by those who serve.
